After 26 years with Batch, Fraser Tanner will be leaving the business at the end of October 2026 to pursue new opportunities.
Fraser has played a central role in Batch’s technical and commercial development, helping shape the business into the established technology provider it is today and supporting its growth across both the UK and US book trade.
In recent years, he has played a key role in the growth of Batch for Books in the US, which now works with the ten largest US publishers and more than 700 bookstores.
Reflecting on his time with Batch for Books, Fraser said he was proud to have achieved his ambition of establishing the business as an accepted and important part of the US book trade and paid tribute to Nathan Halter and colleagues across Batch for their contribution to its success.
Nic Bottomley, Executive Chairman of the Booksellers Association, said:
“Fraser’s contribution to Batch over the past 26 years has been immense. His vision, determination and tenacity have helped build the organisation into what it is today, and his impact on the business and the wider bookselling industry cannot be overstated.”
Izzy Carlile, Managing Director of Batch Ltd, will assume responsibility for Batch for Books following a full handover, ensuring continuity across the business.
Fraser’s friends and colleagues at Batch and the Booksellers Association would like to thank him for his dedication, passion and remarkable contribution over the past 26 years. We wish him every success as he begins the next chapter of his career.
