Fraser Tanner joined Batch in 2000 from the world of foreign exchange, where he had rolled out an internet trading solution for business-to-business payments through the international banking systems. In developing Batch to improve the flow of information and integration between companies within the book and non-book trade, Fraser has been instrumental in winning industry awards including the Nibbie for the service.
Izzy joined Batch in 2022 after a long career delivering a broad range of business solutions within the retail and bio-pharmaceutical sectors. Whist a relatively recent addition to the team, Izzy’s association with Batch started in 2016 whilst integrating Batch solutions across the supply chain for a large retailer. Izzy works alongside Fraser to deliver the Batch business strategy with a particular focus on data-based customer feedback and continuous improvement.
Roshni ensures that crucial financial transactions proceed smoothly across the entire business: Batch, Batch for Books (our US company), and the BatchLine POS stock management system. She manages the day-to-day running of Batch in conjunction with Paul, Lori and the rest of the admin team.
Simon was Batch's first full-time employee when he joined in March 2000. He designed the original Batch Returns system, which was further developed by Maria Quinn and her team. Simon also worked with external developers to design and build Batch Integration Software (BIS).
Simon’s role includes liaising with suppliers on the use of the system. He also sits on a number of industry steering groups and co-ordinates with our external IT experts on new developments.
Kishan joined Batch in 2022 as his first permanent role post-graduating that same year. Kishan’s role consists of dealing with booksellers' and suppliers' technical queries. He also monitors file processes and business communications to ensure all types of files are collected, processed, and sent out efficiently and coherently.
Martin joined Batch to act as booksellers' main support contact for BatchLine POS, a position he held for many years when the business was part of Bertrams. BatchLine, the UK's leading stock control and EPOS system, is installed in around 300 shops in the UK, Ireland and as far afield as the Cayman Islands. As lead engineer, Martin works closely with Sam Nicholls, Jon Potter and the rest of the team on software development, customer training and support.
Chris joined Batch in October 2023 as our newest BatchLine recruit. He works closely with Sam, Tristan and Martin to support and train booksellers in the best use of the system. He has previously worked in IT Support, supporting a multitude of users both in the UK and across Europe, on software QA (quality assurance) and testing. Chris says "I’m really looking forward to getting to know the different bookshops and how they operate."
Sam worked in retail and in events before joining BatchLine. He works closely with Martin Beach and the development team on improvements to the system, as well as providing daily support to booksellers. He says "It has been a delight chatting to all the lovely booksellers who are so varied and interesting."
Tristan joined Batch in 2022 as a BatchLine support technician, providing daily support and training for booksellers. Alongside this he works with the development team to deliver ongoing improvements to the system. Prior to Batch, Tris held support positions in local radio, at Aviva, NIAB, National Grid, Cadent Gas, BAE, Textron, KCOM and a local borough council.

As part of the sales team she attends BA events and the London and Frankfurt Book Fairs, where she introduces our services to booksellers worldwide. When not working for Batch, she writes contemporary fiction as Jan Ellis.
Paul assists Roshni Sedani and other colleagues with a range of administrative tasks and provides back-up to booksellers around the world. If you have an issue with Payments or Returns, Paul is usually the man with the answers. Reggie, the official Batch dog, technically belongs to Janet Ravenscroft but secretly loves Paul more.
Lori assists Roshni Sedani and works closely with Paul James. As well as her daily administrative duties, Lori assists with the set-up of booksellers on Batch Payments and Returns accounts and provides training and valuable after-care. After working for many years in the travel industry, Lori is predominantly responsible for looking after our international booksellers. With a passion for delivering excellent customer service, Lori has become a firm favourite with booksellers.
